Position: Admissions Representative
Location: Houston, TX
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
THE POSITION:
The Referral & Admissions Coordinator is responsible for receiving and coordinating referrals, admissions, and services for infusion therapy and related products. This role ensures seamless patient onboarding by collaborating closely with prescribers, pharmacy, nursing, insurance companies, and internal teams.
Intake & Admissions
Perform intake for new infusion, pharmacy, and DME patients.
Collect and verify referrals, prescriber orders, and insurance details.
Manage benefit verification, prior authorizations, and billing paperwork.
Coordination of Care
Partner with Pharmacy, Nursing, and patient care teams to ensure accurate onboarding.
Coordinate with external agencies as needed for pharmacy-only or out-of-area patients.
Arrange equipment, supplies, and education to support each patient’s plan of care.
Customer Service & Communication
Serve as the first point of contact for clinics, hospitals, prescribers, and patient families.
Address questions, concerns, and escalate issues as needed.
Administrative Support
Perform daily Coordinator of the Day (COD) duties including triaging calls.
Support insurance, compliance, and documentation processes.
Assist with prescriber information, product requests, and back-up for support roles.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field, or 1–2 years’ experience in intake, admissions, or care coordination (or a combination of both).
Prior experience in infusion, pharmacy, DME, or healthcare intake/admissions preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of insurance authorization processes and ICD-10 coding a plus.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
